Leafwing Butterfly

Leafwing Butterfly ... Kallima Paralikta ... The most wonderful camouflage that I've seen ... I saw people passing by inches away from it, without noticing it ... It looks like dead leaf, but only when it's wings are closed ... It's underwings are brilliantly colored and cannot be missed.

Beuatiful blog, amazing photos. I'm particularly struck with the middle one of this group. It's unusual enough to get a Kallima with the wings open, but to photograph that on a perfect specimen at just the right angle to reflect the blue iridescence is really something. Stunning photo.
